As a church we believe in four key areas which define our identity, vision and values:

Living Abundantly by God's Word and Spirit

Learning From And Discipling One Another

Loving and Caring for One Another

Serving the Community Near and Far

Serve1At Russell Park Baptist Church we believe that if our Christianity is to mean anything at all then it must move beyond the walls of our church building.

Therefore, we have a vision to serve our community both near and far, in Bedford and beyond.  We want to be a church whose worship is not just confined to singing songs and doing church “stuff”, but a church whose worship overflows into the community, manifesting itself in acts of service and love.

Serve3Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” Matthew 5:14.  Just as a light pierces the darkness, so too can our lives pierce the darkness of peoples’ loneliness, depression, despair, pain, debt, and ignorance of God.

In Christ’s hands our “ordinary” acts of service can produce extraordinary results!  “Ordinary” acts like visiting a neighbour, sending that encouraging card or email, making that phone call, listening to those who are ignored, all these “ordinary” acts can produce extraordinary results: renewed hope, strength, life, trust, forgiveness, healing.

Serve2We believe that what we do and how we behave really matters.  People take note of good deeds.

But serving the community should never be about us blowing our own trumpet and drawing attention to ourselves.  The vision is to be a people whose good deeds ultimately lead people closer to God as they realise that there really is a God in Heaven that loves them.
